Colman Architects has proposed a reconfiguration of the Octagon Centre which will contribute positively to the enhancement of the area, bringing a vibrant, sustainable, high quality scheme to the centre of Burton-upon-Trent.
An initial Planning Application was submitted in July 2010 for the creation of new two storey entrances to the West and North Malls, the extension of existing units to provide retail space on two floors and improved frontage and lighting design to present a modern and inviting image to the Car Park and Orchard Street.
The proposed reconfiguration will naturally ventilate and illuminate the reconfigured entrance and mall areas to provide a bright, attractive and comfortable environment for high quality retailers and their customers.
The refurbishment of the Octagon Centre will enhance Burton’s ‘Shop and Relax’ quarter and will help shape the future of the town for the next 15 years.
