We are delighted to announce that Colman Architects have secured planning permission for a substantial new house in the South Downs National Park. The new house is situated on a large plot in the village of Slindon, a particularly sensitive location within the National Park.

Whilst the design is unashamedly contemporary in nature, it has adopted design elements from the local village architecture. It has also used a palette of local materials including flint, slate and stained timber. The final design provides an exciting, modern family home while complementing the building stock in the local area.

The client commented: “It has been a long, hard process to achieve planning for the site. Colman Architects have been resilient and determined throughout and the resultant design is wonderful. Our family are really looking forward to living in this beautiful, modern house.”
