At the time we completed our project on Diagonal Mar it was the largest Shopping Centre in Cataluña and the 3rd largest in Spain.

Colman Architects was initially asked to assist the client with a redesign of the interiors. We also carried out a strategic review of the whole Centre resulting in some radical visions for the future.

The first phase of works for the interior refurbishment, completed in April 09, now provides a contemporary, bright and vibrant environment. The contract value for this phase of works was £1.5m It included painting, re-cladding of columns and beams and lighting.

A tour was given of the completed refurbishment as part of the ICSC Conference that year.
