Colman Architects worked closely with the Borough of Spelthorne and clients Clerical Medical Investment Group in the successful transformation of the Elmsleigh Centre in Staines, Middlesex.

The multi-phased development strategy of the Elmsleigh Centre formed the initial component of our Master plan to expand Staines town centre, in accordance with Spelthorne’s Planning Brief.

Phase 1 saw the £7.8m redevelopment of the 250,000 sq./ft Elmsleigh Centre. Refurbishments included a new front entrance, a new 7,000 sq ft Unit and the installation of a new, glazed roof to allow natural lighting and ventilation, contemporary interiors and a new brand identity and signage.

Spelthorne Borough Council purchased the Centre in 2020.
