Located in the historic centre of Oxford, the 1990s extension to this Grade 1 listed building comprised a timber barrel vault glazed roof which had reached the end of its serviceable life. The restauranteur, Pizza Express, advised that customers complained that the conservatory was too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
We have now gained permission to replace the barrel vault with an insulated roof and double-glazed rooflight.
The opportunity was also used to replace the existing conservatory doors on two sides with sliding screens and reclad the courtyard elevations with dark grey aluminium to match the frames of the screens.
